the internet will be the alternative
Who needs your local generic Us radio station? I found stations in England playing the music *I* love. Bands like manic Street Preachers, Rialto and Embrace... never hear them on US radio, where each song sounds as if it has been written for 18 year old boys who want to show a lot of attitude. Ho hum.
I think as connection speeds get faster, and sound quality improves over a larger bandwidth (cable modems?) we will see all kinds of independent and fresh new stations on the net.
